Best boot for general activities - Loved that the boot was waterproof. I tested it and it is. I wear a very narrow size and had no problem with the medium and good hiking socks.

I Like 'Em - I've had my Sundowner Summit's for several weeks now and have been hiking rocky hills in them. They are comfortable and fit well. They are snug, but not too tight. Just right for me. I'd buy them again.

Great boots! Did what it promised - This was one of the only hiking boots that came in a wide. It felt roomy enough, but very stiff. That stiffness saved my neck a few times as I went hiking in the Catskill mountains after a rainstorm. Held well with wet rocks and steep inclines. You'll need a nice thick pair of socks to break them in, but overall a great pair of hiking boots.

Thank you Zappos! I couldn't find a boot to fit my little (6.5) wide feet, so these were a rare find. The boots will probably need a little breaking in before a long hike, but so far so good. Thanks again Zappos!

Great boots but take some time breaking in - I believe these will be very comfortable when I finally get them broken in. I had a shoe specialist work on the boots, (stretching them and trying different lacings) which helped, but it still takes time to get use to them. These were one of the few boots I could find in a wide. I'll be using them to hike in the mountains this summer. They are getting more comfortable each day.

Love them!!! Though I am not used to wearing anything around my ankles and at first they felt snug...once I got used to wearing them, I found them to be an excellent boot. I was trekking through snow and my feet stayed dry and the traction was great in slippery conditions. I love them. I bought them in wide which worked well for me. Pricey but well worth the price and they will last for many winter seasons...Thank you. :)

Wonder boot - I wore this boot for rugged mountain and creek hiking. It was great. It did not take as long as I thought it would to break in. I wore it for ten days straight and no sore spots! It provided great ankle support for uneven terrain. I did wear it with medium weight hiking socks. The fit was perfect. The only issue was that the laces untied - even when knotted. I have bought a pair of Sundowner Summit GTX boots for my wife in San Diego, and for my daughter in Blairsville, GA. They are enjoying them very much and have put them to good use. Both of them found them a bit stiff to begin with, but repeated hikes in them have softened them a bit. They both have narrow feet, as I do, so the narrow boot has been a godsend. Sincerely, John P.

Narrow Hiking Boots - I have a hard time finding narrow shoes that don't kill my feet, so to find a narrow boot was wonderful. I have never been able to wear a boot without getting blisters, but this shoe actually fit my slim foot and I had a wonderful week of hiking in Scotland without stopping. They are so comfortable I am wearing them daily.
