'The' ultimate cold weather merino wool sweater - This sweater is the cold weather bomb. Incredibly rugged, heavy knit wool. Feels comfortable like a cotton sweater, until it gets damp or until you walk outside in the bitter cold. And everybody else is shivering, and complaining how cold it is. If I was stuck somewhere and had to survive in the cold weather and was stuck with one garment stashed in my vehicle this would do the trick. Trim cut, unlike fleece not bulky in the least. Easily layerable under snug jackets. Not hot either once you come inside. Bombproof construction. Heavy stitching throughout. Somewhat slow to dry after washing. But this is to be expected, considering its weight and brushed interior. Fully capable of being worn comfortably when damp or wet. Looks great. Modeled for my wife, and she immediately asked if I was trying to become an international playboy. It looks that good. Pricey, but well worth it. I have no doubt it will last forever with proper care. If you buy one heavy sweater in your lifetime, in my opinion this one's as good as any. The zip neck and pocket are pluses you wont find on lesser sweaters of this type.

Great Looking Sweater - For the price, I made the assumption the sweater was made in USA, made in China. I wore this hiking the first week I bought it, and ripped the front of the sweater when it got snagged on a branch. Wouldn't suggest buying this for use out in the woods hiking as the name may suggest. Great looking, very comfortable sweater. For hiking I would suggest the IBEX Hooded Shak which I own as well and save yourself 60 bucks. Buy this if your looking for a great looking sweater you can wear on the slopes, or out on the town. But for the money, I'm looking for more practical, crossover clothing that I can use in my outdoor pursuits, in which case I would not purchase this again.

Wonderful sweater, handsome & warm but not bulky - True to Ibex quality and reputation, this sweater is superb. I was a little worried about the size, b/c their products sometimes run small, but the XL fit my 6'2", 230 lb son very comfortably. Understated design & colors appeal to most men's wardrobe sensibilities.
