Very cute, but not as comfortable as it might look - The red version of this shoe is adorable. Fit is great (width and length), but the leather over the instep is too tight for true comfort. Hoping that stretches out with time!

Keen San Mateo - I love this shoe! I'm a huge Keen fan and I was not let down by this shoe. I typically wear a 7.5 in Keens and that is what I bought. I'm a teacher and I'm on my feet all day. I can wear this shoe all day long with no problems. I have worn my other Keens while teaching pregnant (the Keen Calistoga) . I would have done the same in the San Mateo. So if you want a comfortable, yet cute shoe, don't hesitate!

Another great Keen shoe. Sassy/dressy enough for work, and functional enough for the beach. The shoe was stiff the first time I wore it, but that one day was all it took to soften the leather. Love them!

This is a great shoe to just slip on and go. Looks good with shorts, pants and even casual skirts. I think about every time I've worn them, someone will say, "I love those shoes!" They're unique as they don't look like all the others. VERY comfortable as well.

VERY Pleased with Keen San Mateo & Zappos!! This is the 2nd pair I have ordered and LOVE them. The first was black...but was adventurous this time and ordered a greenish color. Plan to order more, plus I have ordered other Keens. They are truly my favs and the most comfortable of this type of shoe. Would rather have a few pair of moderate-expensive that are comfortable than a closet of cheap that I can't wear. Very highly recommend Keen and ZAPPOS!! Need to order 1/2 size smaller than normally wear.

Very Cute - I really like this shoe. I have been wearing the Balis for a couple of years now and love them. These give me the same comfort with a nicer look.

My last pair of Keens? I own several pairs of Keen sandals and shoes. Of all my purchases, this was the worst. The fit is questionable. The shoe slides off very easily. In contrast with previous Keen designs, it has no grip or recessed sole to keep the foot steady. The sole feels hollow, cheap, offers no arch support. It is basically a Teva now, so I don't see the point in paying so much more for a pair of Keens than the cheaper competition. San Mateo looks better than it feels, but overall it leaves much to be desired. Perhaps Keen decided to go to lighter/cheaper construction. Whatever it is, a disappointing purchase for me. I'll think twice about buying Keens again, especially online.

I had a small problem with rubbing on the top of my foot and it took about a week to break this shoe in, but once I got over that, I loved them. They feel secure on my feet and I don't have the ache in my feet at the end of the day I would have with other clogs.

Yet another great Keen shoe! Although I had to send the first pair back -- they felt a half size too large -- the smaller pair is exceptionally comfortable. They're a cute shoe, funky enough to wear with summer skirts, plus supportive enough to wear all day at work, or walking to the train. The color is fun, too. A little different, nice with denim and khakis.

Love this Shoe - I was skeptical about ordering this shoe - usually I go more for the mule sport shoe but this looked comfortable and versatile so I tried it. I have recommended this shoe to all of my co-workers. Great for walking, shopping, traveling, etc. Looks great with anything from shorts to capris, to jeans or casual dress slacks.

Love this style - I love Keens and have 2 pairs of the Calistoga sandals so I decided to try the San Mateo. The San Mateo is so comfortable and I love them. They give me enough support for walking too. I like the looks and can wear them with or without socks.

Keen San Mateo - I love how these look but they didn't fit me very well. The size 9 was the right length but the upper part was too narrow and rubbed my foot badly. The 9 1/2 fits better around but is a bit too long. Plus I didn't feel much cushioning or arch support. This is my first pair of Keens so I'm really disappointed. But they ARE cute so I'm sure I'll find times to wear them.

I'd buy it again. The shoe is cute enough and comfortable. It is also a good airport shoe - easy on, easy off! A bit wide, but true to size.

Great shock absorption - These needed a little bit of breaking in (I got blisters after the first long day of walking). Great cushioning in the heel, love the toe protection. Great everyday sandal.

These are my favorite shoes and also my Basenji! I adore these shoes. They were the only ones I wore for a three week trip to Viet Nam, through heat, wet, mud, you name it... my Basenji pup also like these shoes, I left them out and she destroyed a pair, I now use for yard shoes, so I have learned I love these shoes, comfortable, rugged... and to put my shoes way up now! I love them so much I have three pairs! I have nearly worn out my first pair of San Mateo. They are the most comfortable shoes for my arthritic feet. I recently ordered two more pairs, so I have three colors and switch them off. I wear one or the other of them nearly every day. In the winter, I wear them with socks. In warmer weather they are great as sandals. I highly recommend them.

Love these Keens - This is my third pair of Keen San Mateo... I love them once they are broken in. The first few wearings of gave me a nasty blister on the top of my feet, but I oiled the edges and stretched the surface, and now all is well.
