Have had 4 pairs of these shoes. I get them cheap but there is a drawback – they don't last very long. I have yet to see a pair make 100 miles of trail running. For around town or light hiking they are okay but the tread still disappears very quickly. They dry quickly and the cushioning beats down in no time. I am a 180 lb 4-5 day a week runner who only runs on trails. My Sauconys have 130+ miles on them and they are just getting started. New Balance, adidas, and Saucony last much, much longer.

Great for the slop - Great traction and comfort while on my trail run. One comment would be the laces. They are draw string which can loosen, although no more untied laces, so I guess it’s a wash. Salomon needs to make more product though as I had to settle for a color choice that was not my favorite. Regardless, the shoe is great.

This is a great looking shoe with a cool lacing system. However, they are quite narrow and are uncomfortable after being worn for more than an hour or so.

Great shoes - Use to have Mizuno Wave Creation. I have searched online what would be good shoes for regular trail running and found out that these ones were having good ratings. Well I am not disappointed, they are really great shoes! Very comfortable, great look, nice lace system. I am planning on buying a second pair right now, to make sure I have them when the first pair will be used.

Short Life span - Loved shoe but wore out in less than 3 months, Looked fine on outside but foam compressed under ball of foot during normal use mostly walking. Am average height, weight, shoe size.

Great shoe, but a little stiff do not run on the roads with this shoe. But it is awesome on the trails, great arch too. I have flat feet and my feet never hurt for a second. Except, I did need to break in the area around my toes because I got one blister on my foot, but I would buy this shoe again.

Great Shoe - The shoe fits and wears great. I originally ordered this shoe 1/2 size smaller (my normal size), but had to return. The return and re-shipment of the correct size worked fantastic. Zappos is the best.

Better than XA Comp 2 - WOW. I was a huge fan of the XA Comp 2 series (both regular and XCR versions). The XA Comp 3 steps it up a notch. While the 2 version was incredibly comfy it tended to morph into a slipper like version. This has all of the cushioning of 2, with just a little more structure.

Nice fit, comfortable - With an array of Salomon Tech Amphibians on hand, I needed something for the Fall and Winter weather. These were an excellent choice. When hiking I found the soles to be a bit slippery, but all other traction was good. Stylish, too!

Great all around running shoe - Best service from Zappos as usual. Shoe came promptly, good fit, I run mostly on pavement, some off road; shoe seems so far to work great, good wear so far. VERY good lace system, quick and never gets loose. However, 9 miles a week is not as much as they are designed for.

Very comfortable shoe and nice traction. My only concern is stability - on a couple of technical trails I felt my ankle wanting to turn, but it didn't - however this didn't thwart me from continuing to use them though. Overall, great shoe...I'd definitely recommend.

XA Comp 3 are the most comfortable yet - These shoes are amazing, but not very tough. If you are doing anything that involves sharp angular rocks you might want to get some hiking shoes/boots, because the lugs on the bottom will rip off. I did buy another pair though. I would recommend these shoes.

Salomon as usual - Good rugged lightweight running shoes. Very comfortable. Highly recommended. Disclaimer: keep in mind that I'm long time Salomon shoes fun (from pre Adidas times) including ski boots.

Most comfortable shoe I've ever worn - I was looking for a shoe that was rugged, supportive and comfortable but also lightweight and well-ventilated. I finally found the XA Comp 3. It is the most comfortable shoe I've ever worn. Great arch support and wide enough to fit my foot. I've been telling all my friends to buy through Zappos.com!
