Dreamy - I've gone through multiple pairs of day hikers that have left my feet shredded and sore after a day of 10+ miles on the trail. Now that my sights are set on backpacking, I graduated to the Khumbu Mid. What an amazing difference! The boot keeps your foot, ankle, and lower leg in a perfectly ergonomic position, allowing you lots of flex/point movement but virtually no side-to-side ankle motion (sparing even weak ankles from injury). The footbed would be lacking in arch support for those truly in need, but since the boot keeps my foot in an overall healthy position I actually don't miss having a big lump in the boot. The bottom of the boot, while totally sturdy (my feet forget that I am hiking most of the time), is surprisingly lightweight. The climate control system actually works. My feet feel happy, not suffocated, even in 90 degree heat. Plus, the orange color is gorgeous. I sometimes throw these on in favor of my little Keen sandals. Worth every penny.
