Looks good rubs ankles - Looks good, good quality materials, rubs ankle bones, (I guess the shoe is cut high), not a light weight shoe, stiff at ball of foot which makes it want to slip on heels at first.

Great light hiking shoe. This is a very comfortable walking shoe. I liked it right away. Lightweight! I have no problem walking with the shoe but hiking on the Rocky Mountain trails that I do makes me find it a little lacking in comfort and stability. On rocky trails I find it a little unstable laterally (the "torsional stability") and I do feel the rocks underneath. However, it wasn't until I hiked 4 hours (of total 5.5 hours) today that my forefeet became hot and sore at the ball of both feet and the boney area under my little toes. I found the arch support lacking on previous hikes so I use Superfeet inserts, which I recommend. I think the waterproofing is ok (until I went into ankle deep water, on previous trips and then it did remain comfortable--and cool!--when it was squishy wet.) So I will use my "sturdier" high top hiking boots for future rocky trail hikes and use these for average trails and walking. I have a very difficult time finding comfortable hiking boots--average foot but a little wide across the forefoot (neuroma problems). These are the best yet as far as comfortable fit goes. And I like the lightness and the look a lot. It's my first pair of Asolo shoes and I will try them again.

Well Worth It - I love my Asolo Rythm XCR's. They are so comfortable that I even forget to take them off at home. I got the Snapdragon/Mustard ones which are a bit more "Mustard" color than they appeared on my computer, but I still love them. I normally wear anything from a 7 to an 8 and in these I needed the 7 so they are a bit larger and maybe slightly wider than many brands.
