Poor quality. Fell apart after less than 1 year of light use. Will never buy another Salomon product again.

XA Craps - While Salomon has gone out of they're way to promote the sport of disc golf, they have yet to perfect a shoe that can withstand the rigors of concrete. These particular shoes are fantastic on trails and terrain that is soft and pliable, but when used in combination with concrete/asphalt they completely break down. Within two weeks of owning this shoe, the right sole had peeled away in 4 spots. After 6 months the sole had diminished to 40% and when the lace broke, that was all she wrote. As long as I am critiquing, the shoe was really narrow in the "toe box" and after wearing the shoe for longer than 3 hours, the balls of my feet became really sore. But they look good.

XCountry Shoes - I got these shoes for walking/jogging in the woods. They look great and are very easy to put on and tighten with that pull-tight shoestring device. Only problem I have is that they seem a bit narrow for a Medium shoe width. All my other athletic shoes are medium and fit fine. But, I wore them around the house for a week or so and my foot seems to have adjusted, although the still remain a bit tight in the width. I wish they made a wider size.

Best shoe I have ever owned - I have owned Gore-Tex Adidas, Nike, Merrell, Asolo, and North Face shoes... but these Salomons, without a doubt, are the best shoes I have ever purchased. They are super comfortable right out of the box and the lacing system is quick and easy. I went hiking and snowshoeing in them in two plus feet of snow and my feet stayed totally dry and warm. Probably not your first choice for really warm weather hiking because of the Gore-Tex lining, but in winter and wet conditions, these shoes cannot be beat. They also look great and have good traction on wet surfaces.

Excellent Buy - I haven't tried these shoes out as running/hiking shoes yet, however they are great for light trekking in the winter months and seem especially warm while being waterproof and breathable at the same time

Great all-weather shoe - I love Salomon's line of GTX shoes. I had a pair of XA Pro GTX from a long time back and after having a pair of North Face shoes fall apart on me I came back to Salomon. Always holds up in the weather, good traction on the sole, and the black/yellow look awesome. Very durable shoe. I have a wide feet, but have enough room in the D. Toe-box is bigger than expected. Arch support is good, and possibly has too much support for me to use my Super Feet insoles. Fit around the foot is tight, but not uncomfortable. A little loose around the heel, so make sure not to size them too large.

Looks great, fit me strangely - I really wanted these shoes to work out, I like how they look and I like that they are waterproof. They fit me very strangely, though. The toebox felt tight, the middle felt fine, and the heel was very loose. The shoe would slip off my heel at least half an inch on each step, while the toes were uncomfortably tight. I don't think it's a matter of needing to try another size, just the way these are shaped doesn't work for my feet. I didn't wear them outside so I can't comment on the waterproofing.

Salomon Had Trail shoes that WORK! I run 5 days a week 5 to 15 miles through mud, rain, snow on hilly terrain with rocks, roots and everything in between. All i can say is Salomon is building shoes for trail running that hold up like no other.. and are well thought out in design. This water proof version is awesome for fall/winter running. No cold wet feet. I love the new lower heal design. Keeps your foot closer to the ground preventing ankle rolls and helps reduce shin injury when running down hills. My only suggestion would be to have an optional debris collar to keep the stones/leaves/ dirt out of the shoe. So if you need a shoe that is NOT for road running and like to get dirty on the trails do not hesitate to purchase this shoe. You will be happy. On a side note... PLENTY of room in the toe box for wider feet which is a bonus from my standpoint.

Best shoe I've ever owned. I purchased these shoes while I was deployed to Iraq and they were great. I often carried more than 50lbs for days at a time and these shoes held up better than some of the boots I had. I wore them mainly because I needed something to keep my feet cool in the heat and even though they didn't have the ankle support necessary for carrying a lot of weight (they aren't really made for that) the rest of the comforts of the shoe made wearing them worth it.

I have a narrow heel and fairly high arch and of the shoes I tried, this was the best. I do think it could use a little more cushioning or protection in the forefoot. The lacing system is really nice, no hot spots at all.
