Love em - These shoes feel great. I prefer a "boot" feel to my athletic foot wear so these are perfect. I suffer with many foot issues but these were comfortable from the start. The only issue I have is that they seem a 1/4 - 1/2 size shorter than my usual size "bozo" 11's! They are so comfortable I opted to keep them and use lighter socks.

Not for rocky terrain - I purchased this shoe to walk the trails of the Columbia River Gorge. I tried the shoe extensively and found that it was too narrow for my wide foot and caused numerous blisters. I had to wrap my toes every time prior to hiking. I also noticed that I could feel the rocks through the sole of the shoe. Its an ok shoe but not one for trail hiking that has any rocks. I love Keens and have about eight or nine pairs but this one was definitely not up to the kind of hiking that I do on a regular basis.

I figured I'd have no time to break these in before the trip, but I was desperate. I am happy to report that they were comfortable from the start and held up in the mud and the rainforest. Love my Keens - I judge the worth of any new shoe by the way it feels from the moment I put it on. There should be no breaking-in period of blisters, scabs and band-aids before the shoe is fit to wear on a regular basis. My life is too busy and I don't have that kind of patience!

Great shoe! We just got back from Alaska and I wore this shoe on most of the trip. After removing the insole, this shoe fit my foot perfect. I wore this shoe hiking, trinket stomping, and even just walking around on the cruise ship. To me this shoe felt like a very sturdy sneaker. Very comfortable!

The slippage some folks mention here is easily fixed by getting a size smaller. It happened to me; I'm originally 7, ordered 7.5 and had to return them. Great shoe!!!

Very comfortable, but only a 3 hour shoe - I love Keens, I love the comfort they provide and I am planning to walk all over Europe with them on, but these particular ones will begin to add pressure to the top of my foot after long periods so I have to loosen them a bit. They do run small as others have said- buy a half size larger than your normal shoe size. Other than that, they are made with super quality and will continue to recommend them in a heartbeat.

Good cushioning - I returned 2 other brands of hiking shoes before ordering these. I'm definitely keeping these. The cushioning is great. I bought insoles to replace the ones they come with, but found that the ones they come with are better. The pads on my feet are usually very sore after a long hike, but not with these shoes. Almost, but not quite compared to Targhee II - These are very comfortable and sturdy, but for looks, I preferred the Targhee II. The upside to this one is that there are way more size options than the Targhee II if you aren't lucky enough to fit into one of the 3 sizes available in the Targhee II.

Light, comfortable - I have wide feet and these shoes fit nicely right out of the box. They're light-weight and sturdy. Soles are very inflexible and heel is wide, too. Rubbed blisters on my little toe and pressed hard across the balls of my feet, even with the third wearing. Don't know if I'll be able to take them on the hiking trip thru Turkey I have planned.

No Other Shoe For Me - I've had these shoes for a year now and I have not worn any - other - shoes in the past year. From day one, they were comfortable as slippers, yet supportive. I usually wear a 7-1/2, so I got an 8. I wish I had stuck with the 7-1/2s because they have stretched and are not good on steep terrain since my foot keeps slipping. No worries, they are still fine for town. I just ordered another pair in a 7-1/2. I hope Keen keeps making these forever as I will not wear any other shoes! I feel the same way about the Newport II sandals. xoxoxoxo Keen!

Somewhat Disappointed - I absolutely LOVE the Keen Targhee for style, comfort, looks, and grip. My disappointment comes in the fact that in less than a year, the stitching has come undone on the pair and a few of the rubber grips have lifted off the sole. I have really enjoyed wearing my Keens and maybe I've simply worn them out, I'm not sure. I have many other styles of Keen shoes and really overall love the brand.

Great Hiking Shoe with Stability and Grip - I found it was true to size. My size 8 left just enough space for my toes, with thin socks, to not bump the front. However, overall the shoe felt snug for my slightly wide and thick feet. I swapped my Montrail insoles (just ever slightly thinner and broken in) for the new Keen ones, and the fit was absolutely perfect. The shoes feel very stable and have great traction. Without any insoles, they still actually feel pretty good, except that my ankles rubbed on the side of the shoe a little. So, with the Montrail insoles (the size of insoles matched almost perfectly - both size 8), my feet felt like they had a lot more space to wiggle. I usually don't like thick socks or athletic shoes because my feet get hot easily and feel claustrophobic, so this solution is great because with the thinner insoles the shoe did not feel too snug. Incidentally, if I loosened the laces anymore, the heels would have felt too loose, as other reviewers noted. Lengthwise, I think this shoe is true to size. Widthwise, I think it is a little wider than the average shoe but not quite a "wide" shoe. With the Keen insole that it came with, it felt a little shallow (where my toes would touch the top inside, and the laces dug into the top of my foot a little, with thin socks). I like the look, and the color, although it wouldn't be my first choice, its actually not that bad. They look "olive" to me, or like a mossy green, and the fabric tabs like a buff (think foundation) but not quite as much pink as it looks on some websites. I like the "mineral blue" accent (my Montrail insoles were actually the exact same color!). I don't have high arches, so the arch support seems perfect (a little stiff and high actually with the Keen insoles). Overall, I think this is going to be a great shoe for hiking. If you have slightly wider and thicker feet like I do, a pair of slightly thinner insoles should do the trick. I got these mainly because I was looking for a waterproof low hiking shoe that wasn't too stiff, and I think they are the best choice from what I've tried on. Definitely wider and roomier than Merrells with Gore-tex (should come in wide, much less bulkier), and more flexible and comfy than the Solomons I tried (very bulky and stiff).

Keen Targhee II - All I can say is awesome! For foot pain sufferers, Keen is the best. My orthotics do cause some heel slipping in my shoes but I will take that over foot pain any day! Keens give me the support and comfort I need to be pain free after many years and thousands of dollars spent on other shoes.

Shoe Size: Felt true to size
Shoe Width: Felt true to width
Shoe Arch: Excellent arch support
Keen Targhee II - All I can say is awesome! For foot pain sufferers, Keen is the best. My orthotics do cause some heel slipping in my shoes but I will take that over foot pain any day! Keens give me the support and comfort I need to be pain free after many years and thousands of dollars spent on other shoes.
