I have tried numerous brands looking for the "right shoe". These are one of the best pair of shoes for the gym, running or just wearing around town! Great support and stability! May not be the most "fashionable", but definitely the most functional. I typically wear a size 8, but found an 8 1/2 to be the best fit.

Love these shoes and love Zappos! I have 3 pairs. They are great for trail running, very supportive on uneven terrain. I used to have a problem with rolling my ankles after long trail runs. These shoes' heel base is so wide that it is nearly impossible for me to twist my ankle regardless of how tired I am or how rocky the terrain is. Also, once I have worn them out too much to run in, they become my gardening shoes and "around town" shoes. They are super comfortable! Additionally, ordering them through Zappos you get the best customer service ever! The shoelace broke on one of my pairs and Zappos is sending me a replacement tomorrow. It can't get any better!

Great! I wear these shoes for work. I am on my feet all day and my feet usually hurt by the end of the week no matter what I wear. These shoes are great! They are comfortable, light and my feet don't hurt in them. From the first day wearing them they have been awesome. Not only are the shoes great, but I have become a habitual shopper at zappos.com! Excellent web site, customer service is superb and you can't beat the shipping. I have ordered things one night and it arrived the very next day. I can't say enough good things about Zappos!

Am a great fan of the Whisper and Wings models. Plenty of cushioning with great support. I use the Whisper for less treacherous, smoother trail runs. The Wings are working well for trails that are a little more rooty and rocky. Used the Whispers for a 100 mile trail run, combo of 90% trail and 10% road, with the least amount of foot blistering I\'ve ever had. The Wings are newer for me and I have used for runs up to a trail marathon without problems. Salomon shoes rock!

I love these trail shoes! This is actually my second pair of the XT wings. The first pair lasted me a year and I put many many miles of those babies. These shoes are awesome. Comfortable, sturdy, great tread for hiking and trail running, easy lace up system and I love that you hardly feel any sharp rocks under your feet with the great soles on these shoes. You won\'t regret getting these shoes.

I wanted a light, flexible and cool hiking shoe and this one fit the bill perfectly. The lacing system allows infinite adjustments, never gets caught on underbrush and stays "laced" the entire time. Although it doesn\'t come in wide widths, I ordered one size larger and it fit well with my hiking socks. If you need a waterproof shoe, this isn\'t the right model as the mesh on top that keeps the shoe cool also allows water to get in. What was most impressive is the shoe did not require a breaking in period. It was totally comfortable right out of the box.

This is my second pair of Solomon XT Wings and I am a Personal Trainer. They are the most wonderful shoes I have ever worn. They are great for standing on your feet all day long and for walking or running or working out. I highly recommend these shoes to anyone.

Love my new XT wings. My second pair of Salomon. I use them for strength training and walking, on and off pavement, and up and down hills. Super comfortable and adjusts well for my narrow feet. Only brand of fitness shoe that seems to fit well for me with absolutely no issues with numbness or foot and knee pain. Unique lacing stays put and never needs adjusting.

Love, love, love these shoes! They do run big though, I wear an 8.5 in Asics and I ordered an 8.5 in these, they are still a bit roomy. I wear them to work in a hospital (12 hour shifts) so they have great cushion and support, and I also wear them running (3-4 miles several times a week). Love them as work shoes, love them as running shoes. AND they have a 1 year warranty! GREAT SHOES!

I have a wide foot. It is hard to find shoes that feel great the first time I put them on without any "break-in" period. These shoes felt perfect from the first wearing. Very well made and very comfortable, excellent shock absorbent quality for hiking on rough terrain. I highly recommend them.

Excellent shoe! On my second pair. Worn a lot of different brands and this is by far the best. With new hiking shoes the first couple of hikes always seem to be a little uncomfortable - breaking the shoe in. Not with this one! Very comfortable, firm, support! I highly recommend this shoe for technical hikes and running the rocky trails! You can't go wrong!

Great shoe - I love this shoe for outdoor walking/running. I gave it 4 stars b/c I cannot wear them to work out on the elliptical- my feet got really numb- very odd. But they are great for outdoors.

Salomon XT Wings - I'm now on my 3rd pair of Salomon XT Wings. I have severe overpronation and they work well with my prescription orthotics. Good arch support and motion control. I do have to add a bit of heel padding to get a snug fit against my narrow heels. I like the protective toe bumper. These shoes have served me well with many miles running on rocky, technical trails and for ultra distance training.

I love Salomon XT Wings shoe because of “The Agile Tendon”. It is true that The Agile Tendon acts like a spring. It gives more energy when running outside in summer day or on a treadmill. It helps to feel better after hours of exercise. The quick lacing system works perfectly saving your time and energy. I recommend this shoe for running, and for exercise in a gym as well.

First, it is beautiful. Size runs true. Comfortable, nice, flexible feel, but with great support. They feel like highest quality running shoes, but with nice features like durable toe coverage. Love the auto-lacing system. These shoes are too good, great to run in and great to wear all day. Zappos shipped express for nothing extra, got within 24 hours of order.

Great shoe! I generally run in Salomon XA Pro 3Ds but decided I would like to try the Wings. These feel more like a traditional shoe because they keep you a bit higher than the XAs, but they still have trail shoe features (protected toe for example). The toe box is also not as large as the XAs so it feels as though the fit is a little more snug in the toe region. My first run in these was a 9 mile trail run, and I had zero issues. The next run was a 17 mile trail run, and again no issues, blisters, etc. I would definitely recommend them for trail running.

Love my new trail shoes - It was love at first site when I saw the XT Wings in a store but the price was to much for me. I found them on Zappos for less w/ free del., which by the way was FAST!! I have run in them a few times now and love the support they offer. The quick lace system is awesome and you can tuck the extra away so it doesn't flop around. I highly recommend this shoe and will look into them again when it comes time to replace them.

Great shoe for running - This is a very supportive shoe, the heel is very rigid, and the arch high and firm. I use it to run on streets more than trails because of where I live, but they would be good for trails. The laces do take some getting used to - but are great because they never come undone, and stay nice and tight through the run. They gave me blisters on my heels the first time I ran in them - but I think that they will break in well. I am normally a 9.5 - 10. I tried the 10 on in a store and were much too loose, the 9.5 fit great. Would certainly recommend this shoe to anyone.

A big disappointment - I tried so hard to love this shoe. The outsole (cushioning, stability, and tread) are outstanding. It was, and still is, one of the most comfortable trail shoes that I've ever worn around the store & home, but on the trail, by mile five, I was getting blisters in about three places around the toe and midfoot area. I stopped, taped everything, but by mile nine I had the blisters of a burn victim on the inside, outside, and toes of both feet. The lip around the ankle is too high and after awhile left a bruised feeling around my inner and outer ankle bones. Also, my foot was far too hot/warm in this shoe - which might be fine in the winter, but in general, I would only excuse that in a Goretex shoe. The kevlar lacing system is a matter of opinion - for me, I'm nervous about tightening them too much for fear they will break at some point. I have a medium foot, so have concluded that the toe box is way too narrow and seems untested.

Great shoe for trail running in summer only - Great shoe with lots of ventilation. My feet are too cold when I wear them before summer. Wind goes right through them. I've been wearing them for trail running now and they are great. I may buy same model with Gore-Tex for winter. I like the sturdiness of the shoe above the toes. Many shoes fail when rocks, etc will hurt the top of my foot. With these my foot is protected and I never got shin splints since wearing these. I absolutely love the lacing system too.

XT Trail Shoes - Great trail runner. I've had issues with rolling my ankle on trail runs, but the low profile and strong heel cup offer fantastic stability. Highly recommend this shoe.

Shoe Arch: Excellent arch support
Great shoe for running - This is a very supportive shoe, the heel is very rigid, and the arch high and firm. I use it to run on streets more than trails because of where I live, but they would be good for trails. The laces do take some getting used to - but are great because they never come undone, and stay nice and tight through the run. They gave me blisters on my heels the first time I ran in them - but I think that they will break in well. I am normally a 9.5 - 10. I tried the 10 on in a store and were much too loose, the 9.5 fit great. Would certainly recommend this shoe to anyone.

A big disappointment - I tried so hard to love this shoe. The outsole (cushioning, stability, and tread) are outstanding. It was, and still is, one of the most comfortable trail shoes that I've ever worn around the store & home, but on the trail, by mile five, I was getting blisters in about three places around the toe and midfoot area. I stopped, taped everything, but by mile nine I had the blisters of a burn victim on the inside, outside, and toes of both feet. The lip around the ankle is too high and after awhile left a bruised feeling around my inner and outer ankle bones. Also, my foot was far too hot/warm in this shoe - which might be fine in the winter, but in general, I would only excuse that in a Goretex shoe. The kevlar lacing system is a matter of opinion - for me, I'm nervous about tightening them too much for fear they will break at some point. I have a medium foot, so have concluded that the toe box is way too narrow and seems untested.

Great shoe for trail running in summer only - Great shoe with lots of ventilation. My feet are too cold when I wear them before summer. Wind goes right through them. I've been wearing them for trail running now and they are great. I may buy same model with Gore-Tex for winter. I like the sturdiness of the shoe above the toes. Many shoes fail when rocks, etc will hurt the top of my foot. With these my foot is protected and I never got shin splints since wearing these. I absolutely love the lacing system too.

XT Trail Shoes - Great trail runner. I've had issues with rolling my ankle on trail runs, but the low profile and strong heel cup offer fantastic stability. Highly recommend this shoe.
