Flash - great beginner shoe - This shoe feels a size smaller than listed. I bought them a year ago when I first started climbing. I climb regularly at the gym and outdoors, every other day at gym and maybe every other weekend outdoors on limestone and granite. These shoes just now are totaled which is amazing considering a years worth of wear and tear. Horrible smell though.

Good shoe - Nice shoe...fit is about right for a climbing shoe. Feels maybe a 1/2 size small. Good rubber, particularly high grip, although it wears a little faster than 5 10 stealth, for example. Stretches over time, since it is leather. Good shoe for all around climbing-bouldering as well as multi-pitch (Velcro may not be the best for crack climbing though).

Not very durable - The rubber sole on this shoe is sticky, but not very durable. I bought them five months ago, and there is already a hole in the toe of the shoe. I used them 2-4 hours/week in gym climbing. I'd recommend finding a shoe with a more durable sole.

Mad Rock's Flash - PRICEWISE, these shoes are awesome. I went a size down from my street shoes. It was a very tight fit, however, after a week of climbing they fit perfect and I don't think it needs any improvement. It's not been about a month and they are holding very strong. I climb 5 days a week, and like any shoes they will always need to be resoled.

Good "next" shoe - A comfort beginner shoe if fit loose, a very high performance and affordable shoe if fit tight. I fit them with my street shoe size 9.5 and was painfully tight, you should know they will stretch and that is probably the fit you should have. The rubber is very sticky at the cost of durability. I am loving these right now and several people have reviewed at other sites that a resole job will bring them back to life with more durable rubber. Some have complained that the Velcro wears out, go to a local cobbler they will fix...been doing this on cycling shoes for years.

The Flash - So far this has been a fine shoe. It broke in quickly, was comfy out of the box, and climbs great - the rubber seems to be super sticky. Although I can say that the downside of this is that it may wear down quickly, which I hear is a common problem for the shoe. I've only had them for about a month now, so I can't speak to this, but for 70 bucks they seem worth the risk. I wear size 11 street shoes, bought a 10.5. They are comfortable for all day wear like this and still provide fine performance (Ive been doing 5.10+). The toe box is a bit loose. For greater performance fit, go a full size smaller. The shoes do stretch. If they hold up well, Ill certainly buy them again.

Great shoe at a great price! I read that these shoes usually run true to your normal shoe size, and I feel this is correct. I usually wear 10.5-11 men's and got both sizes. The 10.5 was too tight, but the size 11 shoes were snug. Keep in mind they usually stretch out a little with use and should be quite snug (but not painful) the first time you try them on. These shoes were rated a best buy by Climbing Magazine.
