Comfort out of the box - This pair is the 5t pair of "the north face brand" I've bought. I am very pleased with the shoe and it’s Gore-Tex. They keep my feet dry. I will continue to purchase this brand in the future.

Great Trail Shoe - Purchased this shoe off of a recommendation from backpacker magazine. I have a bunion on one foot and the shoe accommodates this very well. Very true to size.

Best North Face yet! Overall this is a very comfortable shoe, at least from the use I have given to it. I mainly hike mountains, trails, some climbing, etc., and the shoe performed better, more comfortable and breathed better than others. I have been a North Face buyer for several years and this is the best yet.

The Hedgehog is one of the most comfortable pair of shoes I have ever owned. I was a little hesitant about paying this much for a pair of sneakers, but it's like that old saying "you get what you pay for," and in this case it's true. Zappos was quick to ship and the product was perfect.

Takes some wearing in - I just finished Kokoda Trail with these shoes and had no problems, but before that I also had sore heels and rectified this with some gel inserts. Regarding the trail, they handled the 100km with ease and I'm now getting a second pair.

LOOKS GOOD, FITS AWFUL - The shoe is light and looks fine, but my heels start to hurt after wearing them for about an hour. I thought it would get better after they were broken in, but it continues. Now the bottom of the shoe shows too much wear to return.

Hands down a step above the rest!!!!!! One of the most comfortable shoes I’ve had. My 2nd pair of TNF shoes and yet to be disappointed, true to size, very durable, and Vibram sole a plus! I’m a FedEx Courier and my shoes take an absolute beating 125 times a day in 100+ heat in So Cal. A little advice for Nike, Adidas, and Reebok...take your shoes elsewhere!!! No need to look elsewhere, thanks Zappos you made my search easy.

Great but not perfect. I was very excited about ordering these shoes and could not wait to try them on. The first thing I noticed right away is that they are very comfortable and feel very light. They look better in person and the tread is aggressive. After walking around in them for an hour I realized that they felt wider than expected but I will admit I have narrow feet...perhaps a thicker sock will make sense. The other thing is that the gusseted tongue seems to be both a blessing and a curse. I wanted to keep things out of my shoe but since it's gusseted, it's tough to pull the laces tight. Overall though I like the shoe and can't wait to see how it does on a trip to Puerto Rico.

Great lightweight hiking/utility shoe - Out of the box, I couldn't believe how comfortable these shoes were. In fact, the day after I received them I went out for a long hike and they performed flawlessly. The arch is slightly flatter than I like, but they are extremely breathable with great tread. Highly recommended for an all-around utility shoe.

Love, love, love - I bought these for my husband because I wear a similar pair. He absolutely loves them, says they are the most comfortable sneakers ever...great for walking, trail hiking. Waterproof but breathable. No break-in time required.

Great all-around shoe - Very comfortable shoe with excellent traction. Great for walking, running, or hiking. The tongue has been redesigned; no more digging into the top of your foot like the 2007 model. It looks better in person than online as well. I was skeptical of a SHOE by TNF, but I was wrong.

Very comfortable shoe - This is my third pair of TNF over five years. I'm standing or walking on concrete 8-10 hours a day. These are the most comfortable athletic shoes I've ever worn. I workout in these shoes as well. Great arch support, very breathable material and an extremely durable shoe. Too bad they're not made in the USA.

Own a dozen pair - This is my favorite shoe. It is pricey, but they work for me. I have owned about 12-15 pair. I trash shoes really fast. I pretty much wear them all the time. At 230 lbs., an enormously thick 11.5 foot, and reckless, I tend not to baby my shoes. I tend to lace my shoes once in their lifetime and use them as slip-ons from then on. This will really destroy shoes, trust me. Also, my feet get hot, sweaty, and stinky really, really fast. I usually relegate my shoes to the garden bin/construction site within about 3 months. These shoes have fallen apart to varying extent, but overall are well made. I do not pronate too much, but I love a very supportive shoe. That said, I detest a mid or high top shoe, so this shoe seems about the best compromise for me. I have a box of other assorted brand shoes and other TNF models, but so far, these are my favorite shoes, so I just keep buying them - usually 2 or 3 pair a couple of times a year. The whole GTX/XCR/WTF model upgrades and all that is all pretty meaningless to me. I just buy the ones I need.

Great shoes! These shoes are great. I have been using them for trail running and the feeling is awesome. Good support, good grip, comfortable, etc. I have been using them also for light hiking. The Vibram outsole is awesome. They are very comfortable. I recommend them. They are great!

Multiple use capable... Hi all. Actually got these to walk the golf course in. Been great for that use. Similar to hiking in the sense of have a pack (for me golf bag) on your back. Waterproofing is top grade. Width is maybe a tad wide (good for me). Flexible but stiff enough to be firm on a variety of surfaces. Get's an "A" from me.

Great Light Hiking Shoes - I just got these and they are the second pair of North Face shoes I've bought. I am as happy with these as I was with the first pair I bought a few years ago. No break-in time needed for these. Fit true to size and extremely comfortable. Cool look, too.

Great shoes! These shoes are great. I have been using them for trail running and the feeling is awesome. Good support, good grip, comfortable, etc. I have been using them also for light hiking. The Vibram outsole is awesome. They are very comfortable. I recommend them. They are great!

Better than expected! Very, very comfortable and excellent grip. I'm very picky about arch support and these shoes do a great job. Nice designing and great tread. Very happy!

Multiple use capable... Hi all. Actually got these to walk the golf course in. Been great for that use. Similar to hiking in the sense of have a pack (for me golf bag) on your back. Waterproofing is top grade. Width is maybe a tad wide (good for me). Flexible but stiff enough to be firm on a variety of surfaces. Get's an "A" from me.

Great shoe! I have had these now for a few weeks and I have to say that they're a quality shoe. Comfort and good looks all rolled into one. I would highly recommend these to any interested in this type of shoe.

Great Light Hiking Shoes - I just got these and they are the second pair of North Face shoes I've bought. I am as happy with these as I was with the first pair I bought a few years ago. No break-in time needed for these. Fit true to size and extremely comfortable. Cool look, too.
