I bought these because I was going on a trip and I couldn't find my Z/1 Unaweeps. I received these the day before I left and wore them every day for 3 weeks. The first several days I thought I had made a huge mistake because the toe was too tight and it kept tightening up every time I readjusted it. I felt sure my toe would was going to die because the blood flow was cut off. However, I was out in the bush in Africa and didn't have another pair of sandals to wear so I just kept adjusting them all day. Finally after about a week they were broken in and the toe strap stayed adjusted properly. Now I totally love them and look forward to wearing them when it warms up again.

This is my second pair of Chacos. The first pair, Hipthongs, I just love and wear all the time. These, however, are not as comfortable. The fabric straps are all connected and when you walk the upper straps pull which tightens the straps around your large toe. I love the sole which has lots of arch support, but this design just didnt work well for me.

These Chaco sandals are really comfortable but it\'s been a bit difficult to: 1) adjust the straps to get exactly the right comfort and fit; and 2) to maintain the strap adjustment once I get them adjusted right, because the straps haven\'t stayed exactly where I adjusted them (they\'ve slipped).

Chaco sandals with the classic rubber footbed, now called Eco Tread, and loop for one's big toe have always been my first choice for summer footwear, and the Zong sandal is no exception. The support is excellent and the fit perfect for all purpose wear, including long walks.

These shoes do take a little getting used to! Yes, the strap system avails itself to multiple adjustments, but finding the right ones takes a lot of doing and re-doing (translated time & frustration). One moment, the toe is smashed, the next moment, the arch. The shoe bed is comfortable, although on long walks I find that the arch gets a little "pushy" (and that's from someone with a high arch that loves arch support). I will keep the shoe and trust that it will become even more comfortable as I get more used to it.

I\'m absolutely in love with these sandals. I\'ve had them for two years and wear them often. They\'re still in great shape after 2 years, but I\'m thinking about getting another pair in a different color. I hike rough terrain in these sandals, go kayaking in these sandals. I\'ve gotten them really dirty, but they still look great considering how long I\'ve worn them. The arch is a bit higher than I was used to, when I first wore the sandals, but after a day of getting the straps just right they were great. \r\n\r\nI\'ve got crisscross tan lines on my feet because I never wear any other shoes when I\'m outside in the summer.

Great arch support. I have plantar fasciitis and I can wear these all day, but even with the adjustable straps my big toe ends up feeling a little strangled and I have to readjust the straps every so often. Seems like you shouldn't have to do that for the money spent. I like them and will buy another style, not with the toe wraparound.

Once I got the straps to a good fit, I have to say I'm very happy with the Chaco Zong EcoTread. Sometimes I do slight adjustments in the morning as my feet are swollen, but all in all, I was looking for a durable shoe that could be drenched with water and not be the worse for wear. Traction is decent. Walking all day is comfortable as long as the straps aren't pinching my toes. Also: cute with pants, skirts, and shorts.

This style is so great because they\'re as easy to slip on off as flip flops are, but feel much more secure. I typically wear an 8 1/2 or 9, and the size 9 fits perfectly. I have to adjust the straps a bit every other time I wear them, but I think that\'s just the effect of warmer or cooler days--it\'s nice to be able to adjust to make it just right every day.

It took a while to get the straps figured out so that the sandals were comfortable, but now that they are, I love them. I still like my Chacos with the heel strap better (I usually revert to those when going for long walks), but overall these shoes are great! The support is wonderful (I have relatively flat and wide feet) and Ive received so many compliments on them. Im definitely glad I bought them!

Yes. These are awesome. I needed a sandal with support because wearing flip-flops all the time was killing my knees. These have great support and I can wear them all day and be happy! I saw some people complained about the toe strap becoming too tight after walking, this happened a little at first, but theyve mellowed out and now the straps do a good job at staying in place. If only all my shoes fit this well...

Despite the ability to tighten the straps at will, I didnt feel like the one that wraps around the toe was good enough to risk wearing for long periods of time. When I tried these on, the toe strap was either too loose or too tight and didnt feel like I could get a good balance of tightness on any of the straps. I returned them and got the Hipthongs instead, which give me the security and comfort I was looking for.

I bought these shoes hoping they could be comfortable daily shoes that I could also pass off as nice looking sandals for occasions when I felt like I should be wearing dress shoes. I've got to say - they do they job and overall I am very happy with them! The other reviews on this site are correct though -I spend some time yanking on the straps especially when I walk fast or uphill. I took them on vacation the 2nd week I had them and got a yucky blister but I was walking a lot (quickly and uphill). I've had them for a month now and the straps no longer move when I'm walking at a normal pace. So bottom line: Great, good looking day to day shoes that can go on slow walks - not your hiking or heavy walking shoes.

I want to be more excited about these sandals than I am. The footbed is very comfortable, like all Chacos, but the straps are an issue. They tighten significantly as I walk, constricting my toes while loosening across the top of my foot. This requires fairly frequent adjustment to keep them properly secured on my feet and to prevent blisters. As I wear them, they are improving and changing less, but they were not perfect out of the box like my other Chacos.

Exactly what I needed! I have what I call "claustrophobic" feet. I like closed shoes to have lots of room despite having a fairly wide foot and I like my sandals to be a minimalist flip flop or slide-- definitely no back straps, but I like a lot of support and cushioning. I'm also pretty active and often find myself in a canoe or walking through a stream. Since I don't like back straps I wanted a thong for something for my toes to hold on to. At first the toe loop on the Zong weirded me out a bit, but I read from other reviewers that it can take a bit to get the straps right. I've been walking around the house for hours now and they're finally perfect. The footbed has substantial support and cushioning and I don't feel the straps anymore. I think I'll wear them to bed!

Otherwise, I'd have just put them on, struggled, suffered, and probably given up. But since I knew where to look, it only took a minute to get them fitted to my feet. I've been wearing them around the house for the past hour and a half with none of the problems that others have reported--and my feet tend to be problem kids (flat, narrow, low-volume, with sensitive skin). I've bought several pairs of sandals this spring (Crocs, Bites, Keens, MBTs), and these are easily the most comfortable and supportive, as well as the most versatile. I can literally travel with just one pair of sandals, as these will look great with everything from swimwear to dresses. (Now I'm wishing I hadn't spent so much money on the others!) I wear a 7 1/2 and normally size up to an 8 for whole sizes, but this time went down to a 7, and they're perfect. As is Zappos service: I ordered these at about 4 PM yesterday and had them at 10:30 AM this morning. How do they do that????

Sorry for the long review, but for others who have had trouble finding a nice looking pair of sandals that are ALSO comfortable, I have to be a bit long-winded. These sandals are fantastic! I usually buy a pair of sport sandals every summer because of the comfort factor and because of their overall design to actually stay on your foot when you're walking (with non-sport sandals I end up squeezing my toes with every step to make sure they don't fall off - causing bad toe cramps). I was actually searching for my next pair of sport sandals when I came across these. I decided to give them a shot. Again, FANTASTIC! These sandals offer ultimate adjustability. The instructions are printed right on the box and are easy to follow. I was concerned that the footbed wouldn't absorb moisture from sweaty feet and would end up a little slippery (like a leather footbed can get) - no problem with this. I also was concerned that the straps would be uncomfortable as they weren't leather and wouldn't offer any stretch/break-in - no problem here either thanks to the adjustability and fit guidance that comes on the box. I took these sandals on a recent vacation (in a hot, humid tropical climate) and they were the only shoes I ended up wearing. Very comfortable for walking around all day. No issues with sweaty feet or breaking-in. Dressy enough to wear at night with a casual summer dress. Needless to say, I will be searching this brand again next year when it comes time to buy my next pair of summer sandals.
