Fireroad delivers as promised! North face made a lot of claims about the versatility, traction, and performance of this shoe and for once I can say that the hype is true. Though the tread is a little conservative for all-out trail running, these puppies can handle asphalt to loose dirt equally well. I found them to be very comfy except that the slightly understated insole "ridge" that provides arch support takes some getting used to, and the toe box was a bit tight for my wide foot. My only real complaints about the Fireroad is that it is kinda ugly and the tongue may drift to the side while running.

I love these shoes. I have gone through a lot of shoes and spent quite a bit of money to find the right shoe, well I have found it. You can run light trails, run the road, cross fit, whatever in these shoes. I do everything in these shoes thats why I have 2 pair to rotate them out and I plan on buying more just to have a supply before North Face changes them up; and thank you again Zappos for your excellent service. Ordered them at 8pm and received them the next day why go out when you have Zappos.

Incredible. I've owned most of the best shoe brands and the best picks from those brands, but The North Face has put together an incredible shoe with the Fire Road. Their name certainly lends credence to their design, i.e., they feel mostly at home on hard-packed surfaces. The only reason I wouldn't use them to run on really rugged terrain would be due to their somewhat flexible upper. However, the design of the sole is great for giving your foot support on uneven terrain. They are a very fast shoe with a solid base. They have kept their cushioning and support traits over high mileage. I run in them nearly every day usually for at least four miles and recently raced the longest leg (7.6) of a marathon relay in them, in which they performed flawlessly. The shoes breathe well and feel light on your feet. They really do encourage fast leg turnover and I have set some great times with them on old trails and blacktop. Sizes are right on.

Better than they look - I always thought TNF shoes were too stiff and heavy, but these 12 oz, very nice. Big fan fits well.
