Excellent shoes. Have had for about a month now. Very comfortable, sturdy construction, outstanding tread, reasonably breathable. Haven't worked them for a long hike yet, but I'm confident that they will serve me well, just as my last pair of Merrells did.

First of all, let me say that Merrell's footbed is a good fit for me. We're all built different, but this is one of the best fitting shoes for my feet. That said, this shoe appears to be well-made. The sole is fairly stiff and provides great protection against anything under your feet, on or off the beaten path. It feels quite stable, as well. Wearing them all day, my feet do not become tired or sore. I'll be happily wearing them whenever I plan to be on rugged ground, no matter where or why.
Other shoes recommended by reviewer: Born or Ecco casuals, but only for the similar fit.

Excellent shoe. Bought mine for work and have had them for a year or more. Very durable and comfy, but with me being on my feet all day the cushioning in them has flattened out so it's about time for a new pair. But for a whole year worth of work and they're in one piece, they're worth the money.

This shoe is awesome, extremely comfy right out of the box. I wear a size 12, and bought a size 12, and they fit perfectly. The shoe looks great, too. Even better in person, than it did on the computer. Haven't had them long enough to comment on durability, but they seem very rugged and well built. I am very happy with these shoes!

This is my second pair of Merrell's and I would not buy anything else for work. They are extremely comfy and top quality. Zappos rocks. I had my shoes in 1 day!

Very comfortable - Very comfortable right out of the box. Sturdy sole. Should offer far more support than just walking around with athletic shoes. Buy a half-size bigger: I wear 11.5, but took a 12 for this shoe. This is my first Merrell purchase, and I'm sure I will buy them again.

Outland shoes are Excellent - I bought these right before a trip to DC. We did a lot of walking around Arlington, Alexandria, DC and several of the museums. The shoes were immediately comfortable and I got no blisters or sore spots.

Great shoe - I bought these shoes for my boyfriend and he LOVES them. He says they are really comfortable. I liked these better than most of the other ones because the others all have mesh and these do not. (We live in Michigan so shoes with mesh are very impractical in the winter unless you want your feet to freeze.)

Great shoes - I bought this shoe as a replacement to the Pulse II which is no longer available. I ended up getting a half size larger than previous shoes. Overall this is a fantastic shoe and seems to be a very stable (no ankle rolling), durable shoe. Unfortunately they seem to be a bit wide in the toe area, but overall I am really loving them. Hopefully Merrill will keep this one around for awhile; I really don't like having to look for an alternative once I've found one that really works well.

Merrell shoes are GREAT! This is my second pair of Merrells (first was Moab Ventalitor). Very comfortable after about 3-4 days break in. They run a little large - I wear a 10 ½, but in Merrells, I ordered a 10. I also use a Superfeet insert, so can't comment on the insert. Zappos.com had them delivered overnight!

First time Merrell Owner; Pleased! For the money, these are the best shoes out there. Merrell makes a solid shoe that fits well right out of the box. I normally wear a 13 in dress shoes, but got a 14 in these, and am glad I did. Having said that, I hear they are true to size, so maybe my dress shoes are undersized. Either way, I was very pleased with these shoes and the entire Zappos experience.
