The strap is a little difficult for my son to thread and pull since it is over to the side and requires additional finger strengh. Otherwise, they have been a great shoe to wear.

My son is almost three. This shoe is sturdy and handsome but a little hard to get on. It seems a little tight in there, but it\'s hard to know since I\'m not the one wearing the shoe.\r\n\r\nThe sides have mesh panels so if you live somewhere cold be aware that the shoe is designed to breathe.

My 4 year old son loves these. I thought they were an attractive alternative to a regular sneaker. As it is so hard to find good looking boys shoes. However, they did not hold up that well. After wearing for 2 weeks, they toes and strap leather were worn. My son is a very active boy, but I think they should have been able to take it. Other shoes have.

Fantastic choice for boys. My son has had 3 pairs of this shoe. They are comfortable. Easy to get on and off. Never look messy because of no laces and are very breathable, no sweaty feet smell. Overall durable. A good choice for active boys with no time to tie shoes.

Nice shoes; my son loves them. Except his mom was in a hurry and mistakenly thought it said waterproof instead of Waterpro. So his feet get wet in all the rain here. But at least they dry out quicker!

We love these shoes. My son wears his Merrells every day and they still look brand new. I find this brand to run a bit small and always go up a size; however, my son has a thick foot and they fit just fine.

I bought these one size bigger than my sons size, but they hurt his little toe, meaning they are very narrow. Too bad, because they look so cool!

My son loves this shoe. It fits true to size and is very comfortable. I bought him other sizes so he can wear them for a while. Considering my son doesn't like to wear shoes, this one is a good buy. He loves them.

I had a little trouble with the sizing of these shoes but when we finally got the right size we were thrilled. My son can put the shoes on easily and quickly, they can go casual or a little more dressed up. The mesh helps air circulation but if it's raining or there is wet grass and he is wearing socks they get wet. We got these instead of sandals this year since my son is so active.

From the mom of a VERY PICKY 4 year old, I recommend these great little shoes. He refuses to wear any kind of sandal. I have bought many a pair of shoes that just sit in the closet. This is not the case with these Merrells. I was looking for something that would be a little less hot than a traditional sneaker. This fit the bill. He is very picky but loved these shoes from the first day. There was no break-in period--no blisters, no complaints of any kind. They are easy on and off. He does it all himself, he never needs any help. These are the only shoes he will wear.

My son loves these shoes - These are the only shoes my 9-year-old would wear. When he finally grows out of them, or wear them beyond recognition, I have to buy the same pair for him.

Narrow width - Our son wears merrels, keen and vans. I got this for a springtime shoe. Merrel always makes a very nice shoe and this one is cool when looking at in my opinion. However, don't be fooled this shoe is very narrow unlike the typical merrel which is average width. Arch support is their but our sons feet were so snuggy that we could hardly strap them closed. I used to sell shoes and trust me he had plenty of growing room in the length. FYI

Velcro problem - My daughter had these shoes for a short time (< 3 months) and the velcro is really not strong enough to stay. A real hassle. We have never had trouble with Merrell's until this style.

My 8 year old wreaks havoc on his shoes so I rarely find any that can compete with his torture. This shoe has fared better than the others because of its overall sturdy design. The only issue I have had thus far is that fringe has developed around the seams of the shoe (and he's only had them for 3 weeks). I have been able to take a lighter and burn them away for a quick fix. It doesn't seem to be unraveling – they are just stray fringes all over (and on both shoes). Overall, very good structure and velcro is sharp looking in comparison to other velcro shoes that are dorky!

Great outdoorsy shoe - I bought these for my daughter to use for a 3 week summer trip that involved hiking and time outdoors. I thought the "waterpro" meant waterproof, but when we received them it was clear that isn't the case - they have areas of breathable mesh. Still, they were so lightweight, great-looking and comfortable that we kept them.

Skeptical - While I love the look of the shoe, I am a bit concerned because the balls of my son’s toes were blistered after wearing the shoes for a couple of days. I am not sure if it was the shoe (maybe they are too big) or if was from another cause, but I did read another review which identified a similar concern.

Merrell Kids Mom - The shoes fit great (to size) easy in and out for quick access. No complaints from the kids thumbs up. They choose these over their Keen sandals.

The Best Summer Shoe - I just purchased a second pair of these for my 11 year old son. The first pair arrived about a week ago and my son lives in them. He claims they are the most comfortable shoes he ever had besides his suede Merrells that he wears to school. He wears them to camp and they are great in water and rugged enough for soccer, too!

Be aware - I purchased these shoes for my son to wear at camp last summer. I thought a great all around shoe for kayaking, light hiking and fishing. They are very rough, almost like sandpaper on the inside at the little toe and the ball of the foot. My son’s feet were rubbed RAW after one afternoon.
