This is a nice boot that is very well made. It provides good supprt although it is a bit stiff. It seems as though you may have to break in this boot. I wore them all day today for the first time and overall tehy felt great. However, they do seem a little bit narrow.

I agree with what other reviewers have said - the narrow size is nice and narrow. My heel does not slip and my foot does not slide around in the boot. It\'s a nice looking boot too. However after wearing them around the house for a while I found that there is a hard seam on the attached side of the tongue that rubs my ankle bone. As in all hiking boots, I ordered a half size up from my normal size to make sure my toes don\'t hit the end of the boot.

These boots are pretty stiff, so make sure you break them in properly. Also, I didn't care for the tongue being attached to one side either, just a matter of preference: it seemed to function fine. I love New Balances because they offer narrow widths and the width was right on. So if it wasn't for the super stiffness, these definitely would have been keepers.

The top sides of these boots have a bump on the inside of the boot that is so uncomfortable after hiking in them for a day in Vail my inner leg above the ankle hurt even after I took off the boots. Unfortunately they were the only boots I had with me and I had to wear them again the next day. I wear a 12AA. I usually wear old Merrill leather boots but wanted a gortex pair. Didn\\\\\\\'t anyone at NB wear them for a few days hiking before they released them. Also I did not like the lacing with a one sided tongue.

I usually wear an 11 but it seems my feet don't fit in hiking boots. This is the only pair I found in a size 12. But I'm glad I did. They are very sturdy and strong. I haven't worn them on the trail yet, and I am still breaking them in. So far I haven't had any problems or sore spots even when I wore them all day at work. We will be doing some hiking this month in the Smokies and I think these boots will be just fine...

Like Bricks - I wear size 8-1/2 D in New Balance walking shoes and love them. I ordered these boots size 9-1/2 D. The length was alright, but these boots are too narrow. Also, they are so stiff it feels like walking in bricks. There is no way I could wear these on a day long hike. Zappos is great, but these boots are going back.

Buy 1/2 size larger - Great looking boot, but it runs short. I have several pairs New Balance running and walking shoes and usually have a little extra room at the toe. In this pair however, my toes hit the toe box before my heel was fully settled. I can't rate comfort since I didn't wear them that long, but they look great.

Painfully stiff. The ankle was so constricting, I couldn't sit comfortably. I stood and the top of the boot dug into the sides of my leg above the ankle so much it ached. I am sure if I wore these for an extended time I would have numbness in my feet. It is also very difficult to adjust the laces on these. If you have narrow feet like mine, it's hard to tighten them even a little bit over the foot.
