I bought these on a whim after seeing them in a gear review in National Geographic Adventure magazine. I liked the look and was intrigued by the claim that they were great right out of the box. I have to say that these are the most comfortable boots I've ever owned. I climbed Mt. Whitney with them and a couple other mountains around southern CA. Beyond the hiking I wear them to work as much as I can, and anywhere else that I can get away with it. I'm considering buying a second pair in case they discontinue them (I hate when that happens). The size felt true and the wide toe area suited my wider than normal feet great. To top it all off I think they look great.

Narrow! Be careful with this one. I ordered an 11, but I consider my feet to be more like a 10 3/4 if there was such a thing. I can get by with a 10 1/2 in some shoes. I ordered an 11 knowing that if they were too short I could always up it to an 11. But my concern is more over the width of the shoe. As soon as I put these on, my arches began hurting. Way too narrow.

This is an extremely comfortable boot. No break in necessary. I got these one half size larger than my foot size, which I always do with Keen shoes, and they fit perfectly. Really comfortable every day boots. Great for hiking in the flats. I would probably recommend a more substantial hiking boot for steep or rocky terrain. Because these are so soft and supple, they’re extremely comfy. Yet, due to this exact softness, they lack really substantial ankle support. Overall, a very comfortable boot right out of the box.

Perfect shoes. Buy a half size up from regular fitting as size is not true to other footwear. Excellent quality and fit.

I normally wear a size 10 in boots. I ordered these in a 10. They were WAY too small, especially left boot. Size 10 1/2 were better but my toes still rubbed front of boot. This time right boot seemed smaller. No way could I have hiked up and down a mountain with my toes crammed into a boot. Ordered size 11 and could have swam in them. My heels slid up and down. I guess I need a 10 3/4. Not sure if this is normal but sizing seemed off, even with the same matched pair. Too bad, I heard good things about KEEN and really liked the look of these boots.

Keen does it again - Keen does it again with a comfortable mid-weight waterproof hiker. I went a half size larger (Ordered 12 typically wear an 11 1/2) on these as I typically wear a thicker sock in the winter and these are my cool/wet weather boot choice. The boot is well built and comfortable, exactly what you would expect from Keen. If you have not worn Keen's before expect more room in the toe box. This can at times lead to people thinking they are not the right size when in reality you are just too used to cramming your toes in other brands of shoes.

Other shoes recommended by reviewer: Anything from Keen or Danner

These boots are fantastic! I purchased mine about 2 years ago. Very sturdy--get plenty of bang for your buck. With an inch and a half larger circumference than regular Hunter boots, they allow ample room for pant legs and socks. I wear mine whenever I can! Rain, snow, walks through the woods. I even took them with me to Bonnaroo music festival this past summer, just in case it was muddy. I was worried about a thin sole, especially on gravel terrain, but was pleasantly surprised! Can't feel a thing! An excellent boot. Will last forever.
