I have been very happy with these shoes. I have had them a month now and have worn them a good bit, but I have not really tested the waterproofing yet. I found the fit and comfort to be excellent. These shoes have plenty of room in the toe area. I generally find most companies make to toe section too narrow for my comfort and it is hard to find these style shoes in wide sizes. These are one of the only pairs of standard widths shoes that actually have plenty of room. I have only found one issue so far, and that is that when the bottoms of the shoes are wet, the are fairly slippery on smooth surfaces such as tile floors. If you go into a store with wet soles, you have to watch your step until they dry up. I am hoping this will change as the soles get worn in, as it seems to be getting a little better. The laces are very good and stay tied. I have had an issue with similar style shoes form other companies where you always had to double knot the laces to get them to stay tied, but that is not a problem with these shoes. \r\n\r\n

These are great shoes. Fit just as described. Perfect for watching football games in the rain and running or hiking off road. North Face makes really good quality stuff. Shoes are not quite as cushioned as I hoped but in all other ways, they are great. I guess you can't have lots of cushioning in a shoe designed for rocky trails. You need a firm, rugged sole, which they have.

These shoes leak, to sand! These shoes essentially have a major design flaw: if you walk in the sand with them, sand leaks through the outer mesh, and gets stuck between what I guess it the Gore-Tex layer and the outer shell. It is nearly impossible to get it out! I have had a pair for 3 weeks: I wore these shoes to Great sand dunes NP, CO. What a mistake! After I got out of the dunes, I took off the shoes and shook out the sand inside the shoes. But after taking out the insole and shaking the shoes, I realized I could still hear sand (sounds like a lot of sand in there, maybe 10grams?) flowing from front to back when tilting the shoes front/back. You might think this is not much of an issue, but because the sand tends to pile up inside the wall of the shoe near the toe box, it creates a bump, and makes the shoes uncomfortable to wear! I have spent seriously over 1 hour shaking the shoes and tapping them against the ground, and cannot believe how much sand I can get out of them, and still I can hear more sand inside. This is plain ridiculous. I do not believe one second that TNF even tested the design of their shoe in real situations. I'm highly disappointed by this North Face product.

I bought a pair 2 years ago I think of the exact same type for a Hawaii trip. They were so comfortable that I ended up wearing them all the time. Only complaint was the bottom black layer seperated from the shoe on both sides in the front after only a few months after purchase. Saying that though, I still wear them 2+ years later and the seperation seemed to stop and did not interfere with usage. Going back to Hawaii and wanted the newer version of the shoe, tried them on, felt great, fit great, feel like they won\'t need time to break in. They will get a ton of wear. I only hope the black layer on the bottom of shoe holds up better than previous shoe.

Great Shoe! Wide toe box-yeah! No break in time required. As a mild to moderate overpronator I took out the Northotic and added a pair of black superfeet for extra stability. These shoes are incredibly stable and very well cushioned. A week after buying these I spent two weeks hiking/running local trails around Breckenridge CO. Steep scree, talus, boulders, sand, etc. and no blisters, ankle turns or wet feet. They also look good enough to wear with jeans/khakis. This was the only shoe I wore my entire trip. Can\\\'t wait to use them in the Blue Ridge. As long as they hold up I\\\'ll be buying another pair.

Other shoes recommended by reviewer: These are the best I\\\'ve found.
