The Ahnu Reyes were a birthday gift for my son who specifically put this item on his birthday wish list. He was quite happy with the "perfect" gift.

I was excited with my purchase of this water shoe. The second time I wore the shoe, the adjustment bucklet (cheap plastic) broke and made wearing the shoe in water (keeping it on my foot) almost impossible. This is a major flaw in the construction of this sandal and I would not recommend it to anyone until the bucklet problem is solved.

The Ahnu Reyes performed great during a 10 day trip to Japan and Vietnam. I received them the day before my trip and had no time for break-in. I was happy to find there was no break-in period needed. On the first day it rained in Tokyo during my trip I wore these around the city (logging 3-4 miles). They performed well and dried quickly. My only initial complaint is that I could not get the strap tight (there is only one adjustment) as I have thin ankles and feet (size 8.5 M). At first the sandals felt a little loose (though the correct bed size) but after an hour of walking I got used to the feel. In Vietnam I wore them most days, whether in Saigon or at the beach. My one complaint about beach walking is the shoes will collect sand and does not aerate well via the front (where most of the webbing is). Often I would have to take them off and dump the sand. These sandals do not work with half or full orthotics (I tried...but they slid out the back). Overall I was very happy with the look, feel, and quality of the product. I would recommend them, especially since I do not like sandals that expose my toenails (not pretty).
