Aesthetically, while minor, the inside toe is a little more square than I prefer (and this didn't come through in the images). Otherwise, they look awesome and can be worn with literally anything short of formal. As for fit, the sole is quite supportive, but I found they were a little stiff around the ankle at first. After wearing 3 or 4 times the stiffness went away and now they just rock!

These shoes in a word: rugged. The first thing I noticed was how "solid" they seemed. They're made of very durable material. They're light, too. The collar and heel portions are pretty stiff, so give them some break-in time, although they aren't exactly uncomfortable at first. I just wouldn't recommend pulling them out of the box and going for a 10 mile walk or anything. They're perfect if your feet are on the average to wider side. Arch support isn't overbearing, but you do have some. The insoles are removable so if you need a little extra support it's not a big deal. The best things about this shoe are the outer, leather shell and the sole. The shell is tough and the shape has a nice silhouette, perfect for jeans/casual wear. And the sole is great for walking. I wouldn't advise using these for hiking however, even though they're made by The North Face. They'd be okay for a well beaten path, but not anything more than that. They're wonderful on pavement, though!
